How We Custom-Paint Scale Aircraft Models
Great paint elevates a model from “nice” to “unforgettable.” Here’s how our studio delivers crisp lines, durable finishes, and realistic wear.
Prep & Primer
We clean, scuff, and fill seams. A compatible primer reveals imperfections and ensures strong adhesion across foam, balsa, and composites.
Color & Masks
We spray light to dark, using vinyl masks and low-tack tape for sharp demarcations. We test on scrap to confirm coverage and sheen.
Decals & Markings
We set decals over gloss to avoid silvering, then seal with a protective clear. Custom markings are cut in-house for period accuracy.
Weathering
Subtle panel lines, exhaust streaks, and chipping suggest service life without overwhelming the model. Less is often more.
Final Clear & Cure
We choose matte, satin, or gloss to match the subject and protect the scheme from fuel residue and UV exposure.
